Zero-energy Solar Houses
Samana Group, SunRoof and QMODULAR
launch joint line of zero-energy Solar Houses
SunRoof, a Polish-Swedish startup creating 2-in-1 solar roofs and energy management technology solutions, has partnered with QMODULAR, a manufacturer of modular buildings, and Samana Group. The collaboration is intended to promote innovative solutions in the construction industry and is a response to the growing interest in energy-efficient and quick-to-build homes. One of the main synergies between the two companies is the creation of the Solar House line of zero-energy houses.
QMODULAR specializes in the design, manufacture, and installation of large-scale modular buildings. Over the years, they have carried out investments in the main sectors of the real estate market: residential, retail, office, and hotel. This is the only company in Poland to construct buildings both on land and on water. 70% faster compared to traditional construction methods.
Green transformation
The revolutionary combination of integrated photovoltaic solutions offered by Samana Group, SunRoof, and QMODULAR technology makes it possible to construct an environmentally friendly building not only due to the maximized use of renewable energy but also the low carbon footprint of the production process. Buildings made using QMODULAR technology are constructed in an automated production hall under controlled conditions. The entire production cycle is optimized for material and energy consumption. During the construction of a building in QMODULAR technology, significantly less carbon dioxide and construction waste are generated compared to traditional construction methods.
QMODULAR Solar House is a line of buildings characterised by a high standard of finish that will allow you to have your environmentally friendly dream home. A building made using QMODULAR technology with the implemented solution from SunRoof is a unique product. Not only does it reduce operating costs thanks to solar energy, but also through precise workmanship and the use of suitable materials such as aerogel used in the aerospace industry, it protects against heat loss and ensures comfort for years to come. The combination of SunRoof’s solar roof and façade technology with QMODULAR’s building architecture allows you to achieve an amazing visual effect.
says Marcin Kukułka, CEO of QMODULAR
The Swedish SunRoof 2in1 system maximizes the safety and efficiency of the photovoltaic system, enabling it to generate more energy per square meter than competing solutions, using fewer materials and leaving a smaller carbon footprint. The integration of the roof with photovoltaic cells – monocrystalline glass/glass solar panels – ensures excellent durability and tightness of the coating as well as high aesthetics. To date, the company has gained the trust of more than 700 customers in Poland, Sweden, and Germany.
QMODULAR shares our concern for the future of the planet and our passion for creating simple but comfortable high-standard solutions. Like us, it is pioneering the development of new product categories that encourage sustainable choices. I am therefore very pleased that the SunRoof solar roof will become an integral part of the Solar House range of modular homes and together we will create new opportunities for investors to build smart buildings powered by the solar energy
– says Marek Zmysłowski, Co-Founder and CMO of SunRoof
One of the stages of cooperation between the three companies is the construction of a Solar House show house on the premises of the QMODULAR headquarters, near the motorway close to Krakow. It will give a real insight into the possibilities offered by modular construction combined with advanced solar technology. The opening of the show house is planned for the first quarter of 2023.
Samana Nomad City
As part of the established partnership, Samana Group, SunRoof, and QMODULAR will design, manufacture and deliver modular homes from the Solar House line for Samana Nomad City, a residential-coworking complex located on the Samana Peninsula in the Dominican Republic. The founder of the project is Marek Zmysłowski, a serial entrepreneur, investor, and business expert in emerging markets (HotelOnline.co, Jumia.com), for whom the Dominican Republic has become a second home. By betting on QMODULAR buildings will be much more resistant to cracking and better adapted to seismic waves than traditional houses. Thanks to the SunRoof solar roofs and façades, Samana Nomad City will gain independence from the electricity grid.
SunRoof builds powerful 2-in-1 solar roofs and innovative façades that generate electricity, replacing the need for a traditional roof. SunRoof is a smart investment and functional roof providing an efficient energy solution with uncompromising elegance. Our mission is to speed up the global transition to renewables by developing elegant roofs that, by generating electricity, will cover the energy demand of the entire building. SunRoofs' ambition is to provide solar roofs with the lowest carbon footprint on the market.
