Off Grid Adventure

This project is an experiment on how agriculture can have value as a tourist destination while preserving the natural environment of Samana while combining local communities. The main tourist attractions of Samana are rich in fun things to enjoy, such as surfing, cruise tours, snorkeling, and diving, using the beautiful waterfront as a resource. However, if you look around for a while, you can see that the sea is not the only thing. The appearance of trees, mountains, and land is also full of beautiful scenery. The site is located quite far from the coast and is a heavily sloped land full of trees. We sought ways to minimize damage to existing plants while maintaining the appearance of the land as much as possible. In addition, a sustainable self-sufficient farm is completed only when its value as a tourist destination, not a workplace with only a farm, is generated. We arranged three-dimensional farms of various sizes and heights according to the level of the terrain, and planned a master plan that would be eco-friendly and attract the participation of local residents by combining them with new programs. The site is largely divided into two natural areas (N-1, N-2), three farms (F-1, F-2, F-3), and four architectural spaces (A-1, A-2, A-3, A-4), and the natural area is gradually changed into a development space from the north side of the site. N-1 Horse track : It is a place to graze horses, which are easily seen livestock in the Samana area. Horses can operate freely, and a tracking course has been planned for tourists to experience horseback riding N-2 Wetland : Wetlands are located between the natural area that preserves planting in existing sites and the human area that explores agriculture. Wetlands are green belts that create natural ecosystems, expand biodiversity, and prevent indiscriminate development of natural areas. F-1 Flying deck : Flying Deck proposes a new approach for high crops in the site. It is easy to access high crops with minimal damage to nature and convenient harvesting. F-2 Variable grid: It is a three-dimensional farm of various sizes and heights as the core space of the farm. It also leads to exports to the outside through drying space, processing and production space F-3 Eco Lab: It stores solar energy and rainwater and distributes it efficiently to farms, and research on plants is also conducted. A-1 Information center: Information center, activities such as education, lectures, and information exchange on agriculture take place, and various programs are held to make it easier for people who are new to agriculture to adapt.\ A-2 Farming community: A market that sells crops produced here opens to attract local residents' participation A-3 and A-4: The main house, the staff's accommodation, and the guest house were placed at a high level to establish a close relationship with nature as much as possible.
