We created the Samaná Land Trust to give Samaná a long-term framework for responsible development. At its core is the Trust Constitution — a legally binding set of principles that defines how the land under its stewardship can be developed, not just today, but for years to come.

This is what makes the model powerful: protecting Samaná does not rely on promises or good intentions. The principles are built into the structure itself.

Low-Density Development

At least 80% of every masterplan remains green. Development stays below the tree line, and healthy trees are protected.

Sustainable Self-Sufficiency

The Trust supports a target of 40% renewable energy, filtered rainwater systems, and local food production within five years.

Inclusive Empowerment

5% of profits are reinvested into local education and entrepreneurship, while 20% of residential plots are reserved for Samaná residents at customs-assessed value.

Cultural Preservation

Local institutions, traditional architecture, arts, and cultural education are supported as an integral part of every development.
