SENIOR CONSTRUCTION MANAGER
(Director de construcción)

Position Overview: 

Construction Directors (Site Directors)  is the main manager of building projects. They ensure quality of construction, that projects are completed on time, within budget, and up to all the required standards expected by their company and clients. This involves managing schedules, delegating tasks to senior colleagues and their teams, and ensuring each phase of the construction process progresses as planned, whilst also contributing and coordinating to maintain Health, Safety and Welfare within the workplace. From overseeing logistics to liaising with subcontractors and providers, a Construction Director’s responsibilities span the entirety of the construction sites. 

Location: Dominican Republic, Samaná 

 

Your responsibilities

  • Supervision of the execution of construction works in accordance with the project documentation and construction codes
  • Supervision of the quality and timeliness of the works performed by subcontractors
  • Coordination of the logistics process, supervision of the procurement of construction materials
  • Settlement of the cost of the works
  • Preparation of work acceptance protocols
  • Solving technical problems at the construction site
  • Completion of construction logs

Our requirements

  • 7 years of experience in construction management
  • Full Time
  • Native Spanish Speaker 
  • Higher technical education – Construction Engineer
  • Professional working proficiency in English 
  • Construction authorization to direct construction works in construction and civil engineering specialization without limitations in Dominican Republic 
  • Experience in working on construction sites of multi-family and multi-storey residential buildings
  • Very good knowledge of construction codes, labor laws and health and safety regulations
  • Ability to plan and organize work, negotiate and manage a team
  • Availability, responsibility and independence
  • Ability to use Autocad, MS Office, Google Suite, Microsoft Project 
  • Driving license 
  • Valid passport (in case of non-dominican citizens) 

Desirables 

  • Latin American or work experience in Latin America
  • Experience working abroad in multicultural teams 
  • Polish language – conversational
